Aussie Pooch Shark Treats are made from 100% Australian Black Tip shark and Australian Gummy shark - both common, sustainably sourced species in Australia. These sharks are caught under strict quotas managed by Australian Fisheries and classified as "least concern" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), ensuring the protection of our marine ecosystem. Both species are primarily harvested for human consumption, known as "flake" in supermarkets and fish shops. Their main supplier has their own fishing fleet and is part of the Fish Improvement Program and obtains the blue tick from the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) required by supermarkets which indicates wild sustainable seafood that can be traced back to a healthy fish population. They have invested heavily in visibility, with live and recorded cameras on board every fishing vessel which monitors catch.
